The Beginning

This is the first ever post about our baby venture, which we named HOMES TASTE. The very first idea of starting this venture goes long back when I started to understand the taste of various food items. The plain food cooked at home didn't fantasy me and I began my experimentation with food. Although my mom used to scold me a lot, but i never stopped. I used to eat outside more often, mainly street food for the finger licking taste. In all, food is something which has been close to my heart first and tongue :).

Whether I went to school, college or professional life..the chase for tasty food never ended. If i was unable to get my desired food, I never hesitated in trying my hand on it. I got my first freedom when i went to college (BITS Pilani Goa Campus). The food in college mess was MESS :) and I took the charge to change it. The fight was long and unending. The occasional check-ups and protests led to edible quality and taste of food. But, the most important thing happened during those college days. My continuous presence in college mess kitchen and the closeness to cooking processes arose my interests in this field.

Later when i went for my internship in final year of college, i had two major pass times. First one was reading books, journals, magazines, articles etc about the global financial crisis and the other one was experimenting food items at home ( that too late night as whole day my company used to f**k me).

The initial trials were not very encouraging, although my roomies used to support me ( not for my interest in cooking, but they wanted different dishes to eat or to make my fun if something went wrong). I started with making pakoras, omelet, noodles, halwa, uttapam etc. At that point of time, i did all the cooking just for my passion, nothing related to homes taste came to my mind. Even i did not realize at that point of time that IT WAS JUST THE BEGINNING.....
